It’s cleaning day at the Garibaldi house!

We’ve enjoyed a wonderful week with family visiting and now it is time to get the house back in order. As I was cleaning the bathroom today, my heart was convicted. Admittedly, cleaning the bathroom is not my favorite chore. However, one aspect of the task that I do love is that there is such an obvious reward when the work is done. Clearly the bathroom is grimy and dingy, then…clean…clean…clean…and miraculously, it sparkles once again! If I am focused at the task, this can all happen in a matter of minutes!

The scrubbing today made me think: Wouldn’t be wonderful if my heart was as easy to clean? I’ve been so focused today on the housecleaning, but maybe what I really need is some good heart-cleaning!

“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow…Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”

(Psalm 51:7, 10 ESV )

Take a minute today to put down the to-do list and check your heart. If you, like me, need a little spiritual scrub-a-dub-dub, rejoice in the fact that we have a Savior who is a miracle-worker! He can clean a heart in an instant – and He doesn’t even break a sweat!

  1. Molly…thank you for all your wonderful posts! All have been so encouraging to my heart! And, Tami’s post was encouraging to my tummy!

  2. I’m so proud of you for blogging. Keep it up!

    • Thanks, Kandy! It’s hard to find the time but I’m enjoying it a lot more than I thought I would! I greatly appreciate your continued encouragement. And I’ve so enjoyed reading your posts, as well. I especially loved what you had to say this week about God setting boundaries to our strength so that His power can be displayed. I need that reminder daily!! I’m going to go post a link to that one! 🙂
