Prayer & Praise Monday – August 13, 2012

What a privilege it is to start our week together, gathered at the Throne of God! Please join us this week as we pray…

• Praise the Lord for a great week of Vacation Bible School last week at our church! Everything went smoothly and so many people gave their time and energy to make it all happen. Pray that the seeds of Truth that were planted in the hearts of the kids will sprout and produce spiritual fruit.

• Please pray for our Throne of Grace “worker bee”, Tami. She threw out her back this weekend and is in bed and in pain. Please pray for quick healing and that God will bless this time of “forced” rest for her.

• As the 2012 Olympics have finally come to a close, pray for the American athletes who are professing followers of Christ. There are so many! Just to name a few…

Gabby Douglas – Gymnastics

Jonathan Horton – Gymnastics

Allyson Felix – Track

Sanya Richards-Ross – Track

Lolo Jones – Track

Kevin Durant – Basketball

Charlie Houchin – Swimming

Missy Franklin – Swimming

Amy Rodriguez – Soccer

Lauren Chaney – Soccer

Brittany Viola – Diving

David Boudia – Diving

These Olympians are boarding planes and heading home to the US today and now have the opportunity to use their notoriety and success to glorify Christ or glorify themselves. Pray God would be honored by their witness and that they could serve as godly role-models for this generation.

• Running mates have been chosen and the US Presidential race is on! Please pray for wisdom and discernment for American believers to vote as the Lord leads. Pray that we as Christians (namely, myself!) would not be indifferent to the political arena but would pray boldly for the Lord to move among our nation and to raise up leaders who will seek His will.

• We would appreciate your prayers for God’s protection over this website. Please pray that the Lord would continue to guide each and every word that is written – both by Throne of Grace and by our readers. Pray that He will protect us from Satan’s inevitable attacks and that God would receive any and all glory for His work here.

Leave us a comment to let us know you are praying today! And don’t forget to send us your prayers and praises by Friday at noon (PST) if you want them included for next week.
