The Power of a Mom’s Prayer

There is no more important job I have to do as a mom for my children than carry them to the Throne of Grace! Who will ever feel compelled to pray for my child more than me? If I’m not willing to make the sacrifice of time to regularly, boldly, fervently, humbly pray for my child, who will?

God has convicted my heart in this area recently. When my kids are grown and leave my home, undoubtedly I will have regrets about what I did and did not do as a mom. May I NEVER regret that I didn’t pray for them enough!

So along with the conviction, God also graciously gave me a little idea. I’m starting a new sort of interactive prayer journal with my kids. This is week one…we shall see how it goes! I’ll share more as the idea takes shape! Anyone else struggle in this area like I do? What are the methods you use to help yourself be disciplined to pray for your kids?

Blessings in Christ,

I love this idea, Molly! I enjoy using the resources from Jodie Berndt, but I’ll admit I need to be more faithful. Thanks for sharing!

    • Thanks, Heidi! It’s great to hear from you again! I had not heard of Jodie Berndt, surprisingly! But I just looked her books up and I’m going to definitely add these to my reading list. You can never have too many good resources to encourage and inspire prayer, right?
