Hello Prayer Warriors!
My belly is full and my heart is full! It has been a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend at the Garibaldi House. We kept things low-key this year with a delicious feast locally at my sister’s house and managed to get our indoor Christmas decorating done. It is a RARE thing to feel a little ahead of the game around here! (Probably just means I’m terribly behind on 50 other things I won’t realize until tomorrow morning when we start back to school! 🙂 )
I pray your weekend was blessed and restful – even in the midst of the typical holiday chaos! We’d love to have you join us in prayer this week. Let’s go before the Throne of Grace where our heavenly Father is waiting to receive our praise and hear our cries for help.
• Please continue praying for my dad (Don). The report came back on his melanoma that was removed from his arm and it was deeper than than originally thought. A special cancer board will be meeting to look at his results this coming Friday to determine if more needs to be done. Pray that the Lord will be merciful and spare him the need for more surgery, chemo, testing, etc. Pray that if more does need to be done, that God would use this trial to deepen my dad’s dependence on the Lord and grow his faith.
• Tami’s father-in-law, Tommy, was back in the hospital for more surgery on Thanksgiving. Tommy had his leg amputated in September and the healing process has been very slow. It turned out he had an infection in the wound so surgery needed to be done to remove the infection. It appears the surgery was successful this weekend and he is doing better, though still in pain. Please continue to pray for complete healing of his wound! Pray also that the evidences of God’s care for him would give Tommy the strength and faith he needs to endure.
• Let’s remember to pray for Jacob Lloyd this week! He recently finished round 4 of his chemo treatment for Hodgkin’s Disease and should be getting test results back this week to determine how successful this last round has been at shrinking and/or eradicating his tumors. Let’s pray for COMPLETE healing! Let’s pray for a God-sized miracle so ONLY God can receive the glory!
• Finally, I would like to offer a praise report on my eyes! Thank you for your prayers and thank you to those who have followed up and asked me how things are going. MUCH better! The biggest praise is that I did go ahead and begin the mega-expensive medicine and although I was told not to expect results until I had been using the eye drops for 3 months, I noticed an improvement on the FIRST day! My eyes have been better this past week than they have in years. The other piece of the praise is that, with my doctor’s help, we’ve found a way to make a 15-day supply of the eye drops last for 2-3 months, thus greatly reducing the cost. God is so good to not only take care of my eyes, but take care of my finances, too! (Matthew 6:25-33)
I know you hear me say it every week, but I can’t say it enough! It is a GREAT privilege to be able to lift one another up in prayer, so please don’t hesitate to share our prayer needs! We would LOVE to be a participant in the story God is writing in your life. Please send us your prayer requests and/or praises by Fridays at noon (pst) to be included in the following Monday’s post. Have a great week! Here is a little spiritual snack to munch on today:
“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.…The Lord reigns forever; he has established his throne for judgment. He rules the world in righteousness and judges the peoples with equity. The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.”
(Psalm 9:1-2, 7-10 NIV)
