Good morning, Prayer Warriors!
“Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.”
(John 14:13-14 ESV)
This weekend I received a fabulous devotion in my Inbox from Proverbs 31 Ministries. It was written by Sharon Glasgow, who I’ve now determined, is a kindred spirit! Her devotion, entitled, ”Changing History through Prayer”, is a powerful reminder of the far-reaching effects of prayer.
In her short article, Sharon gives many examples of women who were faithful prayer warriors on behalf of their children, dedicating them daily to the Lord. These children grew to be adults who impacted their generation (and many generations after!) for Christ.
I highly encourage you to take 2 minutes to read it for yourself. You can find “Changing History through Prayer” HERE
Don’t you want your prayers to have that kind of impact for God’s kingdom? I do! Whether you have children of your own to pray for or not, the children of this generation need our prayers! Pick a child or two that you can be committed to praying for THIS WEEK!
Here are a few other ways you can join us in prayer this week:
• Pray for Troy! Her surgery to remove her brain tumor is today! Please pray that the Lord would guide the hands of the surgeon to get every bit of that tumor and not any bit more! Pray God would give Troy a successful surgery and complete healing. Pray that Troy would experience the peace and joy that only God can give through this whole process. Finally, pray that Troy would see God meeting all her practical needs during her recovery!
• As Deb shared recently here on the blog, she and her family are in the process of adopting from China. Please pray for Deb and her family through this process. Pray that the new system for adoptions in China will be up and running soon! No new referrals (matches with a waiting orphan) have been given since May 23rd and the new system was supposed to be up June 1st but has faced major delays!
• I would appreciate your prayers for my family as we will be traveling over the next two weeks to Colorado for a large family reunion. Around 35 family members from all around the country! This is only our second family vacation in 8 years so it is a BIG deal for us and very exciting! It’s also the first trip on an airplane for the kids – at least that they can remember! Please pray for safety as we travel by plane, train, car, and river raft! J Please pray also that we make the most of every opportunity God gives us on the trip – whether that is to explore the beauty of God’s creation, to dig a little deeper into one another’s hearts, or to share the love of Christ with others!
I hope you all enjoyed your 4th of July celebrations and had a safe and relaxing holiday! I’ll be back for Throne of Grace Thursday with my thoughts on worship!
