Good morning, Prayer Warriors!
I’m going to get right to our prayer needs this morning. There are some big ones!
• A dear friend and former coworker of mine, Marcia, is asking for prayer for her daughter and son-in-law. Marcia’s son-in-law, Mo, has recently been diagnosed with follicular lymphoma, a non-Hodgkins lymphoma. Mo is 31 and he and Marcia’s daughter, Krissy, have only been married a couple of years and have no children. Mo just completed his residency at Duke and was set to become one of their family physicians at the end of August. He now has to give that up to get treatment for his cancer.
The good news is that it appears to be a slow-growing cancer and is not in any vital organs. However, it is in quite a few places in his body! Marcia is asking for prayers for strength and endurance both physically and emotionally as Mo and Krissy enter this scary journey. Let’s also pray for Marcia and her husband, Brian, that God’s grace will overflow into their lives to give them all they need to support and encourage their children!
• Please pray for Deb’s former church family back in her hometown in Ohio. The head pastor, a man who served as Deb and Ray’s pastor for 13 years, passed away unexpectedly on Friday. He was 52 and has left behind a wife and 4 children in their 20’s. Pray for God’s comfort for the many who knew and loved Pastor Rick. Pray that his life and testimony will draw many more to Christ as his story (and Christ’s story through him!) is shared.
• Please continue to pray for my family as we travel to Colorado. Pray for our safety and wisdom as we make decisions regarding how to spend our time there. Most importantly, please pray that we can be godly examples to our children and all our extended family in word and deed – that we would be living lights for Christ wherever we go! You know how vacations can bring out both the best and worst in all of us… 🙂
• Finally, a praise update…Remember sweet little Royce? He is doing great as he has recovered from surgery to close up his feeding tube site! The surgery site is healed and he is working on getting stronger. He has started sitting up on his own now which is a big accomplishment! Praise God for his healing work in Royce’s life. Pray that Royce would make leaps and bounds in reaching his developmental milestones.
Thank you all for your faithful prayers! You are such an encouragement to many!
