Thanksgiving Blessings from Throne of Grace

On this Thanksgiving day, we feel blessed to belong to an amazing God who, out of His great love for us, died on the cross to save us from our sins!  So, to honor our Lord today, we’d each like to offer up a sacrifice of praise to our Savior!

“Through Him then, let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that give thanks to His name.”
– Hebrews 13:15

Dear Lord,

I am thankful this year that You are THE source of TRUE joy and contentment. True joy can only be found when we are walking with you and honoring others before ourselves. You’ve been showing me this year that when I find myself whining or complaining – whether literally or in my heart – that I’m either loving some “thing” more than I am loving you, or I’m loving myself more than You or others. I’m thankful that you make these sins so evident in the hearts of my children to convict my own heart as I painfully acknowledge the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree! Thank you, God, that as my source of joy, I can experience contentment despite my circumstances.

Love,

Dear Lord,

I am thankful for God’s generosity to me.  He gives me abundant grace every day.  I am thankful for my husband who continues to love and care for me even though he knows my many flaws.  I am thankful for my son who amazes me everyday.   I am thankful for the beautiful home that God blessed our family with this year… it is more than I deserve and I pray daily that we will use our home to serve Him.  I am thankful that God continues to listen to the cry of my heart–even when I pray for years about something–I know His love and care surround me.  I am thankful that God is gracious and that Jesus paid for all my sins at the cross…I am completely undeserving of such grace and mercy!

Love,

Dear Lord,

I am thankful that you are so faithful.  You always remember me and stay near me, even when I can’t see you or lose sight of the bigger picture.  I am thankful that you long to shelter me with your loving-kindness and remind me that you are sovereign and hold my life in your supremely powerful, and infinitely caring hands.  I am thankful that you are my never-ending source of comfort, peace, and strength.  I am thankful that even though I am impatient, blind, and judgmental, you are long-suffering, all-knowing, and merciful.  I am thankful that you deal gently with me as you open my eyes to your truth and teach me to walk in your ways.  But, I am especially so thankful that you loved me first and gave me the grace to love you in return, so I can call you my Savior!

Love,

Please join us in offering a sacrifice of praise to God by leaving a comment below! We’d love to hear about which attributes of God’s character, things He’s been revealing to you, or ways He’s been growing you that you are especially thankful for!

Also, on this special day, we’d like to give you a small gift to say “Thank you!” for being such wonderful friends and customers – a free Christmas printable!  The graphic prints out as an 8”x10” image, and for the best results, we recommend printing it out on white card stock or photo paper.

We hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Prayer & Praise Monday – November 19, 2012

Happy Thanksgiving Week! Throne of Grace is thankful for you, our faithful prayer warriors, who join us here each week. God is doing a work here beyond what we imagined and you are all an integral part of that work. We had no idea it would be such a blessing to be able to offer a place for prayer for the hurting…and it has been such a privilege to be able to lift one another up to our Savior! Lots of suffering this week! Please join us in praying for the following:

• Molly’s dad, Don, was recently diagnosed with melanoma. It appears the skin cancer was caught early. He had a 3 1/2 inch strip of skin on his arm removed on Friday and is awaiting test results to make sure the cancer was contained and has been removed. Please pray for Don’s faith to be strengthened during this time and for quick healing from the surgery. Please join us also in praying that the cancer has not spread!

• We’d appreciate prayers for a dear friend, Jennifer, who just lost her mother to colon cancer. Jennifer has lost a mother-in-law, sister, and now her mother – all to cancer within the past 2 years! Pray for the Lord to comfort Jennifer and her family as they heal from so much loss. Pray for the practical needs of the family to be met as they pay bills, prepare a service, and keep up with work and daily life. Praise the Lord that “Granny Annie” knew Jesus as her Savior and that the Lord, in His mercy, kept her from suffering long.

• Amy is asking us to lift her up to Jesus and pray in faith for complete healing! Amy has been suffering with Lyme disease for quite some time and is currently undergoing an aggressive treatment plan that leaves her bedridden many days. With three young children and a husband who serves as a pastor of a large church, being unable to handle her many responsibilities is hard on the whole family! Let’s pray with expectation knowing that Jesus is the great Healer and pray that a miraculous healing would bring Him great glory!

• Speaking of COMPLETE healing…I (Molly) would appreciate prayers for complete healing from the ailments that plague my eyes. A combination of chronic dry eye, allergies, and blepharitis (look that one up!) have been a source of frustration for nearly ten years. Recently the combined efforts of two different doctors have led me to a medication that is extremely expensive. After exhausting all other courses of treatment, it seems like the last resort! Please pray for wisdom and confirmation that we are moving in the right direction. Pray that I would have the faith to believe the Lord can and will heal me to His glory and that Satan will not be able to use this ailment to keep me from accomplishing the work the Lord has for me.

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”
(James 5:16 NIV)

Thank you for your prayers! We’d love a quick comment below to let us know you are bowing before the Throne of God with us today. Then be sure to check back here on Thursday for a special Thanksgiving gift from Throne of Grace!

Blessings in Christ,

Molly and the Throne of Grace Team
